Dating a college guy while in high school

xbubblexwandsx asked: I have a friend who argues that the college experience must include “branching out socially, growing alone” etc.

Basically being single, meeting people, dating around. I’m more on the pro-spotlight of college experience actually.

Going to college is also a unique situation – freshman year, you will have the chance to meet all sorts of new people and have many new and different experiences.

College is supposed to be the best four years of your life.

They’re not abducted by aliens and then BAM, they turn into Ryan Gosling.

They’re still the immature guys they were before, and they probably won’t change until their mid-thirties (if ever).

On one hand, maybe he is your first love and you have shared an amazing few months or even years together.

On the other hand, 3000 miles of separation is no joke.

Meeting a Girl Establishing a Relationship Making It Work Community Q&A Whether you dated a lot in high school or not at all, college is a whole new ballgame when it comes to relationships.

I feel that they are both missing out on being young people even though their relationship is really happy. Personally, I have no need or want to “experience” multiple people and I definitely don’t see that as the point of college.

I agree that you should branch out and meet lots of people, but you can do that without sexual activity.

So a guy who was a complete jerk because he always hung out with a bunch of jerks might turn out to be a pretty nice guy when you throw him into the wild world of college.

Then again, guys don’t always change for the better.
